Hey Everyone,
We know that everyone is anxious to use the new repeater, but we hit a significant snag.
After we had setup the main 650 repeater, and started testing it out, we quickly found out that something was severely wrong with the setup.
After a month of diagnosing, we have come to the conclusion that it is the antenna that is causing the problem.
The antenna was moved up to a higher location, but that sadly didn’t make any difference.
So, today (6/11) we will be installing a new antenna in hopes that this will finally fix the problem once and for all.
If testing shows that everything with the repeater is now fixed then we should be going live, for all members to use, on 6/13.
We are also taking the “Travelers Repeater” offline today and moving it to the same location as the Main Repeater. Which would allow it to gain a ton more coverage area vs where it was at.
This should cover I-25 completely from the north side of the city to the south side with zero issues. Of course, pending on if one has enough power to hit it, which this location should help massively with that as well by not requiring as much power as before. Of course, the further you are the more power you will need.
The Travelers Repeater should only be down for a few hours today as it’s moved and then re-installed at it’s new location.
Feel free to continue to use the Travelers Repeater until the Main one goes live.
